A fun rendition of the classic Beatles tune for acoustic guitar. The arrangement attempts to bring the tune home to its ragtime origins using techniques for ragtime guitar reminiscent of the guitarist Rev Gary Davis. This is achieved by the steady alternating bases followed by little pull-offs (legatos) on the G and D strings with the main melody riding over the top. The arrangement is a good introduction to this ragtime technique for an intermediate student of steel string acoustic or classical guitar. I try to be very explicit about the fingerings for both the right and left hand. There are perhaps other fingerings, but these are the one I use and would recommend to students. The rests after base notes denote muting that is an important part of the ragtime guitar technique. The short introductory lick is, as far as I know, my own little creation and works surprisingly well as a sign-off for the arrangement even after the key change from C to G major in the middle. An allround happy tune that is a pleasure to play and a real joy to listen to.
