Product Description

Akira Ifukube's theme for the first appearance of the titular kaiju in the 1954 Japanese motion picture was influenced heavily by Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. This short orchestral adaptation riffs on the perpetuum mobile of Ifukube's theme, adding both a Bartok-inspired fugue and a brass chorale to celebrate the persistence of both the monster and its music.
