Take On Me by A-Ha
Arranged for two guitars by Dan Jones www.danjonesguitarist.com
Take On Me is a classic pop song, released many times, but eventually becoming an international success in 1985. The much-discussed production techniques and innovative pop video owe much to the songs
success, but little is mentioned of the bands fine use of tritone relationships, chromatic scales and chord inversions. It is these, more traditional, musical elements which make the song ideal for interpretation
with traditional, acoustic instruments, in this case, two guitars.
This arrangement could be performed as a virtuoso piece at the original tempo of 170 bpm, or as a more reflective ballad at a slower pace. I see it as an excellent encore or novelty piece for more-experienced duos, or those wishing to build their repertoire with more innovative and original material.
Your download features a score with notes only, a score with notes and TAB, individual parts with notes only and individual parts with both notes and TAB.
I hope that you enjoy playing Take On Me as much as I have enjoyed both arranging and performing it.
