Following the original shape of Spain, while being shortened in a number of ways to allow for easier concert programming, this arrangement should allow players of various levels of jazz, improvisaztion, and percussion abilities to work as an ensemble and find a sense of common groove. While solos based on the original recording of Sparin are written out, players are encouraged to experiment outside of these bounds.
