"...with Joyous Anticipation" by Kenneth Baird is a celebratory composition that, while originally composed in anticipation of the Christmas season, is appropriate for any eagerly anticipated time or event (birthdays, holidays, graduations, weddings, etc.). Composed in a contemporary style that is a blending of Latin-jazz with contemporary "classical," this was originally composed for solo piano, but here has been arranged for flute and piano, and includes what sounds like a brief flute improvisation (fully written out) over surprising chord changes that was not included in the original piano version This composition is an expression of the anticipation of something truly joyous soon to occur in a person's life.
