Product Description

I wrote Contra-Bahía for one of my students in the first years of my double bass class at the Conservatory of Music in Como.

Its a piece for double bass and piano, clearly inspired by the wonderful musical tradition of Brazil. Since it was meant for a student just starting out, it doesnt pose any major technical challenges, and the range is limited to the lower half of the fingerboard. Still, it does call for good expressive skills and solid use of vibrato. It also helps if both performers are somewhat familiar with Brazilian musicespecially with its unique way of pushing the rhythm forward.

If available, the addition of a percussionist is certainly welcome.
