PROGRAM NOTES:

Ebensfeld - "The gate to the garden of God". From the local mountain, popularly known as the Veitsberg, you have a unique all-round view of the beautiful valley. The Saint Vitus Chapel is framed by linden trees that are over 200 years old. These are considered to be the largest closed lime tree group in Europe. A place with history: Formerly a sacrificial site from Celtic times. According to legend, a fratricide happened here. Out of remorse, the malefactor asked for a sign and pounded his staff into the ground. The first linden tree is said to have grown out of this.

Reconciliation or Forgiveness" (from bar 121) is also a good keyword for the Musikverein Ebensfeld e.V. Due to differences of opinion, the association split up in 1971. Since then there have been two independent music associations. In 2012, the reunification finally succeeded with the new name Musikvereinigung Ebensfeld e.V. "At the Gate of God`s Garden" was commissioned by the Musikvereinigung Ebensfeld e.V. with its conductor Kathrin Motschenbacher in spring 2023. Donated by Paul Gartenschläger on the 150th anniversary of the wind band music in Ebensfeld.
