Product Description

The title "Blow the Man Day" refers to shipmates referred to as "blowers," who set the topsail on a ship and strike the capstan. In other verses the title refers to knock an irritating crewmate to the ground (including the captain). The title appeared in the mid nineteenth century in a book of "Sea Chanteys," and is considered to be of German origin.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
