Fernando Sor's Study in C is such an essential work for the development of a guitarist's musicianship that the towering figure of 20th century classical guitar pedagogy, Andres Segovia, placed it first in his collection of "20 Estudios" by the composer. This edition stays true to the notation of Fernando Sor's original 1817 publication unlike the edits of Segovia and Carlevaro, which contain octave transpositions of some notes. However, I was inspired to expand upon these great editors insightful contributions to clarifying the phrasing and dynamic markings of the piece. Two versions of the study are included in this edition; one which is more difficult with smoothly connected legato fingerings throughout; and, another that is easier with less challenging shifts throughout. Chord diagrams w/ modern analysis of the harmonic progression and suggested right/left hand fingerings have been included throughout to make the work more approachable and to edify the knowledge of the modern guitarist. 6 pgs. including cover and Glossary Of Symbols.
