Product Description
This string trio arrangement is based on Johann Sebastian Bachs Flute Sonata No. 2 in E-flat major, BWV 1031, specifically drawing its melody from the second movement. This movement is written in the style of a Sicilianoa graceful Italian dance form that gained popularity during the Baroque period. Characterized by its lilting rhythm and gentle sway, the Siciliano typically appears in a minor key, set in 6/8 meter, and features a distinctive rhythmic motif: dotted eighth note, sixteenth note, followed by an eighth note. This rhythm evokes a pastoral, almost melancholic mood. This advanced-intermediate arrangement can be played either as violin I, violin II, cello, or violin, viola, cello. It is appropriate for a concert, recital, or wedding piece.
It is approximately 3:40 in length.
