Cinema Paradiso (Nuovo Cinema Paradiso. 'New Paradise Cinema') is a 1988 classic, romantic and comic film set in a small Sicilian town. It has consistently been appraised as one of the greatest pieces of European cinema of the 20th Century.
The score was written as a collaboration between father and son Ennio and Andrea Morricone. The magnificent Love Theme which accompanies the final scenes of the film is one of the most beautiful ever composed in the genre.
This arrangement is designed for players of a higher-intermediate standard. The score has some high-position reading and I have chosen to retain the original key of B flat major.
