Product Description

This arrangement of The Moon Represents My Heart was written in 2015 for the Victoria Chorale. That year, the choirs annual concert happened to coincide with the Mid-Autumn Festival, and I thought it fitting to close the evening with this arrangement as an encore. Popularised by Teresa Teng in the 1970s, the song has since become a timeless classic of Mandarin popular music. In arranging the work for choir, I sought to preserve the simplicity and directness of the original while adding depth through choral textures and gentle modal shifts, enriching the harmonic colours that support this beloved melody.

Hanyu pinyin romanisation is provided throughout the score.

This revised 2019 edition has been adapted for non-divisi SATB choir, making it more widely accessible to a variety of ensembles. The 2015 version was scored for divisi choir with soloists.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
