"Norwegian Summer - For Band With Beginners" is a piece meant to capture the essence of this summer feeling.

The melody created for the beginners is meant to express a feeling of calm. Something beautiful and simple. Perhaps a picnic in a wildflower meadow. With gorgeous butterflies swarming around. The trumpets and trombones come in with powerful signal-like notes to depict the majestic and beautiful mountains of Norway. Being surrounded by this beautiful landscape brings out a feeling only the Norwegian summer can give you.

Playing with older, more experienced musicians can increase motivation and bring beginners further on their musical journey. This piece is created to make this meeting between beginners and more expierienced musicians possible. The beginners part is simple enough to learn early on, and the parts for the rest of the band is quite simple. However, the challenge is being able to depict the story and landscape hidden in the music. Once you do, this piece can be really beautiful.
