Product Description

This work seems to have been originally an intellectual exercise for Bach, written on the back of a Goldberg Variations manuscript, whose bass ground it utilizes as the main theme. Bach does not specify instrumentation, and it is arranged here for Woodwind Quintet.

Each Canon can either be played one at a time, pausing as though each were an individual movement, or they can be played continuously, as a unified work (Bach does not specify). Each repeated section can be repeated ad lib., in order to showcase the looping, continual nature of each canon.
