Product Description

Full score and Parts for orchestra, edited by John M. Laverty. English composer George Butterworth (1885-1916) was unable to fulll his potential in the music world due to World War I. Killed at the Battle of the Somme at the age of just 31, he still had a lasting impact on music. A contemporary of Vaughan Williams, he successfully incorporated folk songs into his works. A Shropshire Lad was originally a setting of songs for voice and piano that Butterworth also scored for full orchestra. This later version was premiered in October, 1913. As with all Zephyrwindmusic publications, parts come with an Unlimited Copy License, thus removing any copyright issues in the way parts are used. Parts can be used in analog form printed on paper or uploaded as a digital part onto a reading device such as an iPad for performance.
