Product Description

Klezmer music originated in the "shtetl" (villages) and the ghetto of Eastern Europe, where itinerant Jewish troubadours, known as "klezmorin", had performed at celebrations, particularly weddings, since the early Middle Ages.
"Klezmer" is a Yiddish term combining the Hebrew words "kley" (instrument) and "zemer" (song).

A klezmer Journey uses three traditional tunes:

  1. Choson kale mazel tov (measure 7) - a wedding dance
  2. Freylekh (measure 40) - a Jewish circle dance
  3. Sherele (measure 74) - a German shepherd's dance

This arrangement for flute quartet (Flute 1, Flute 2, Flute 3, Flute 4 or Alto Flute) is suitable for any occasion: classroom, recital, hanukkah, weddings or for a sparkling and rousing encore.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
