"Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain," written in 1945 by Fred Rose and based on Willie Nelson's 1975 recording, this is an arrangement for an Intermediate concert band with minimal percussion requirements. This arrangement was inspired by the 50th anniversary of Willie Nelson's recording of the song in Garland, Texas, and has been arranged by a resident of that city (Lee Jackson lives on Garland's south side). It includes a trumpet feature playing the guitar solo, followed by a dramatic swell into the chorus of the song. It's a short arrangement, coming in at just 2 minutes 30 seconds, matching Willie's version rather closely. A great piece for the middle of a concert, or to give your audience a bit of history with their music.
