The Rivendell String Quartet Arrangements - The Pop Standards Series

Brazilian composer Zequinha de Abreu (1880-1935) wrote the choro Tico Tico (Tico-Tico No Farelo) in 1917. The title refers to the Portuguese pronunciation of the Rufuos-collared Sparrow. This popular tune has been performed by organist Ethel Smith in M-G-M's Bathing Beauty, and the "Brazilian Bombshell" Carmen Miranda sang it to Groucho Marx in 1947's Copacobana. It's even been performed by conductor Daniel Barenboim and the Berlin Philharmonic!

This bright samba is perfect for any party or reception, and would also be a great encore on any string quartet program!
