Party - Duet for Flute and Clarinet in Bb
I vividly remember those days of our youth, when friends and colleagues in our communitys philharmonic band would be filled with enthusiasm talking about and reminiscing about the patron saint festivals of each town. Over the years, we had accumulated numerous anecdotes and experiences, while invitations from different communities became more and more frequent. We often traveled and stayed up to five days in each place, culminating the celebration with our musical performances.
During our stay, we contributed our music, raising the level and joy of each towns patron saint festivities. We enjoyed performing pieces such as Sones, Jarabes, Marchas, Boleros, Danzones, Zapateados, Polkas, Peteneras, Variaciones, Fantasías, Overturas, and even Sinfonías. At these celebrations, it was common to have four or five philharmonic bands present, all contributing their talents to create a festive and collaborative atmosphere.
The piece Fiesta evokes the emotion and the mix of joyful, anecdotal, and nostalgic memories of our youth. It is a tribute to those times when we counted the days and hours until the arrival of the patron saint festivals of the various communities. This musical piece, conceived for flute and clarinet, captures the essence and spirit of those shared experiences, transporting us to a time when music and camaraderie were the center of our lives.
