This piece entitled "Russian Hymn" is based off an old Russian hymn entitled "O Bozhe, Bozhe Day Mnye Siliy" which roughly translates to "Oh God, God, give me strenght!" This hymn was made popular by a Christian martyr in Russia during the Soviet Era of Russia, and he would sing this tune every day while he was in prison for what he believed. The story goes he was about to be led away to suffer even more greatly for his beliefs when the other prisoners suddnely erupted in a chorus of this tune all at once.
I have taken this beautiful melody and made a setting for concert band to now have access to this tune.

This arrangement is set at around a grade 3 to 3.5 for band.
