Product Description

These two Ballades by Brahms, Op. 10, No. 2 & 4, are the first in a series of 30 such arrangements Christopher Kies has made for violin and piano from among the complete shorter works of Brahms for piano. The other groups of available arrangements are the complete Opus 76, 116, 117, 118 and 119. Brahms' shorter works for piano are considered to be among his most inspired creations. These two Ballades make excellent companion pieces to his three original sonatas for violin and piano. The violin parts have been given bowings and fingerings by Boston area violinist, Paul MacDowell. These pieces are well suited to both advanced-intermediate players and professionals alike. Inquiries about these or other arrangements or compositions by Christopher Kies may be directed to christopherkies.com
