In a humble manger made of rough slate stone,
upon whose coarse, humble facade the sun glistened upon the frost.
The earth is heaven, the word is flesh
and the virgen mother and the castle-like manger.
They are cheap, two-bit materials: the flimsy frame.
Yet with the lights from the boy appear to be gold and mother-of-pearl.
