This lively dance has been adapted for traditional string quartet - Violin 1, Vioiln 2, Viola, and Cello. It is written in the key of G Major with a modulation to G minor in the middle. With the intermediate players in mind, violin 1 has simple shifts no higher than 3rd position. Violin 2 has an engaging part that differs from violin 1 in sections, and all parts have simple double stops at various points throughout the piece. With it's contrasting sections and simple tempo changes, this is a great piece for chamber ensembles who are refining their skills of breathing and moving together.
