Product Description

The Eriskay Love Lilt is one of Scotlands most popular folk songs. The song became extremely popular after it was recorded in 1964 in a somewhat sanitized version by a folk group called The Seekers. Since then, it has travelled the world and has become a favorite folk song of the British Isles.
Eriskay is a small island lying between the larger islands of South Uist and Barra. They are part of the Outer Hebrides (HEB-rid-eez), a group of islands which stand in the Atlantic Ocean off the rugged north-west coast of Scotland.
In this arrangement, the melody appears in both the low and high registers of the clarinet, first in B flat major concert then later in C major concert. In ¾ time, the clarinet highest note is written B5 which is just above the treble staff. Awkward movement around the break has been avoided. This is an attractive and compelling arrangement and is sure to be appreciated in any clarinet recital. The standard is about the UKs ABRSM Grade 3.
