Product Description
Written for my 2017 solo recital, this solo piece starts off unassumingly with the striking melody of the song
Yiasemin (Jasmin flower), presented as simply as possible. A small bucolic interlude rounds up the traditional roots of the melody. Then the music examines the melody under a modern, 20th century perspective and clarinet technique, using 8ve grace notes, multi-finger tremolos and impro-style passages.
Optional Performance direction: The player can encourage the audience to hum or sing concert Re (D, E in Bb)
for the first part of the piece.
