Consisting of three movements that can easily stand alone or be performed as a set of three, this piece contains warm harmony, lyrical melodies, and fun rhythms for string players of various skill levels. The melody is shared around - even the double basses get melody at one point! - and is a great exercise for developing low-2 technique.

Each movement has its own personality: Shazza is the kind, confident, inspirational one; Julz is the calm and clear-headed one; and Smithy treads on a few toes but gets things done (and has a heart of gold!). The composer insists these are indeed fictional characters, however we've all been on a committee before and will probably recognise these people...

This is around a level 2 string piece, and features an optional violin 3 part that doubles the viola part. Winner of the "Australian National Composition Competition 2024" by the Australian Band & Orchestra Directors' Association.
