Product Description

The Heist is an original composition for orchestra that draws inspiration from a range of Hollywood blockbuster heist movies. The piece is aimed at an orchestra that is looking for something outside the standard classical repertoire. From the start this piece is high energy and features lyrical melodies over an 'agitated' rhythmical pattern that swap between low brass and strings. The woodwinds feature heavily ,as do the horns and trumpets. The energy gradually dissipates as the piece moves into the playful middle section in 3/4 that features the low strings, low brass and low woodwinds in a melodic interplay. This leads into a solo cadenza passage for Oboe (This can easily be played on flute or clarinet should it be required). We then return to the energetic main theme where the themes are swapped amongst the various sections of the orchestra before concluding with the same rhythmical figure that opened the piece.
