Music by Billy Goldenberg and lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman. Arranged in 2023 by Rebecca (Boo) de Bruin. 4 pages for Sweet Adelines (ladies' barbershop) quartet. (Tenor, lead, baritone, bass are roughly equivalent to SSAA). Please note: in keeping with normal barbershop practice, an octave-shifted bass clef is used for the baritone and bass parts (roughly equivalent to alto 1 and alto 2).

Fifty Percent is a defiant ballad taken from the 1978 Tony-nominated stage musical by Jerome Kass, Billy Goldenberg and Alan and Marilyn Bergman. Having fallen for a married man, Bea sings of how she would rather have "fifty percent of him, or any percent of him than all of anyone else at all".

Vocal ranges are:
Tenor (S1): Eb4 - F5 (Eb above middle C to F above high C)
Lead (S2): Bb3 - D5 (Bb below middle C to D above high C). (Until the tag the highest note is C, and an alternative tag is included)
Baritone (A1): C4 - C5 (Middle C to high C)
Bass: Db3 - F4 (Db below middle C to F above middle C)

NB It's entirely possible to sing this in E / F# rather than Eb / F (as my quartet does) provided you have a relatively high lead: but it makes it much harder to read!
