Despite its opus number and public composition date, The Flapping Duck Song, in somewhat less developed form, dates back to about 1979 or 1980, and was conceived as a comical moment of entertainment in group situations, where the Composer could sing the top line, either solo or with a second line accompanying on almost any appropriate instrument. His rendering was always in a suitably embarrassingly crazy camped-up pseudo-operatic bass voice. The Composer would delight in any choir with lively and incisive delivery singing it.
