Set in three movements, and lasting 30 mins, Mayers only Piano Concerto is full of solid classical writing, but also some progressive harmonic language, as well as a highly-virtuosic solo piano part. Composed between 1845-57 this work has received many playings on air thanks to a new reccording. Performance material is in short supply so this publication of a full score and parts (1022. 2000 Strings) is a welccome addition to the romantic concerto repertoire. The solo part shown in the score is not included with this set of parts but is available separately.
