This is my intermediate jazz piano arrangement of 'Bye-Ya' by Thelonious Monk

It is a 32-bar Latin-tune in AABA-form. The A sections are played with a "Latin" feel with swung eighth notes. The B section moves into a walking bass line in the left hand.

It was originally called "Playhouse" after Minton's Playhouse, the club where bebop famously began. However during recording producer Bob Weinstock wanted to call the tune "Go", translated to Spanish because of the Latin influence, thus "Go" became "Vaya". However somewhere along the line the translation of "Vaya" became written as "Bye-Ya".
