"Journey through the Classics (Part 3)" is a classical music medley series in five parts. As with all five Parts, I have a longer section in the middle featuring a solo instrumentalist feature. In this case - 'Flight of the Bumblebee', by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, for solo Flute and Solo Clarinet. This medley features the following works:
- 'Rhapsody in Blue' by G. Gershwin
- 'Intermezzo (Karelia-Suite)' by J. Sibelius
- 'Aria No.9 (Figaro)' by W.A. Mozart
- 'Light Cavalry' by F. von Suppé
- 'Dance of the little Swans' by P.I. Tchaikovsky
- 'Flight of the Bumblebee' by N. Rimsky-Korsakov (Soloist Feature)
- 'Poco Allegretto from Symphony No3' by J. Brahms
- 'Allegro from Symphony No. 9' by A. Dvorák
- 'The Blue Danube' by J. Strauss II
- 'Largo from 1812 Overture' by P.I Tchaikovsky
This five-part medley series were already performed by the SA Navy Band during their end-year Gala Concerts with massive positive reception by the audience over five years.
