Product Description

Juan María Solare: Nómade
for 6-part clarinet ensemble or for clarinet sextet
(4 soprano clarinets plus 2 bass clarinets)

Nómade is the second movement of Sonatango: a classical sonata in form and tango-inspired in character. This is possibly my most performed composition, since:

  • - it is highly accessible to audiences
  • - it is technically relatively easy to perform and does not require extensive rehearsals.
  • - there are over 40 versions / arrangements , ranging from solo piano and duos to chamber music ensembles and full orchestra.
  • - it is suitable for various occasions, from recitals to funerals (in fact, I performed the organ version of Nómade at my mother's burial).
  • - is a good example of crossover between classical and popular music. It might even be described as neo-Baroque.

Nómade, like the entire Sonatango, is dedicated to my sister María Mercedes. Trivia: Nómade was the first of the four movements to be composed (specifically in Lilienthal, Germany, on June 13, 2002).

In the clarinet ensemble version, the first clarinet part can alternatively be performed by an E-flat clarinet.

This version for clarinet ensemble (the 43rd arrangement) was created at the request of Soledad Lugano for the Ensemble de clarinetes de la UNA (Universidad Nacional de las Artes), Buenos Aires, Argentina.
