Product Description

Ruslan and Lyudmila is a Russian opera in five acts based an a poem by Alexander Pushkin was composed by Mikhail Glinka between 1837 and 1842. It premiered on 27 November 1842 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Saint Petersburg. Its overture became a popular concert piece. The arrangement is two whole tones lower than the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "New Year's Concert" on 6 January 2012 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria.
