Product Description

Die Pariserin (The Parisian Woman) is a Polka française by Johann Strauss jr., which premiered on 6 May 1860 in Unger's Casino in Vienna. Strauss intended to express the new clichéd image of women from Paris, that emerged outside the French capital. The arrangement is one half tone lower than the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2013 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria, and broadcasted live by Austrian television. A live recording of this concert is available at https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/la-chasse-die-jagd/ or https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/la-chasse-die-jagd-paris-wien/hnum/10428714?iampartner=303&subid=umr62&ref=partner.jpc.de .
