Johann Christoph Vogel was a German composer who, like so many of the period, only lived to the age of 32. He spent most of his working life in Paris where he was mainly employed as a horn player.
His works were not extensively played at the time owing to the opinion that they were somewhat "old fashioned"! However, they exhibit much inventiveness and charm.
This work for bassoon is not too challenging for the modern player, but has a number of satisfying flourishes together with some delightful melodies, which make it well worth playing as an alternative to the, somewhat limited, standard repertoire for the bassoon.

As usual with my score, the page turns will work if the parts are printed double-sided including any title pages.
