"The Virgin of the Angels", from the opera La Forza del Destino by Giuseppe Verdi (1813 1901), and one of the most famous arias in his rich oeuvre), is the religious hymn that closes the finale of Act II of the opera. It is set in the church of the 'Madonna degli Angeli' near Hornachuelos. La Vergine Degli Angeli means the Virgin of the Angels; this is, therefore, a Marian song. For many, it is one of the most beautiful arias ever composed.
