A mournful piano solo perfect for remembering the passing of loved ones. A moving, emotionally laden piece.

Inspired by the artwork 'Melancolie' by Albert Gyorgy. This bronze sculpture depicts a person with no 'insides', after the death of a loved one. Also referred to as 'Melancholy' or 'Emptiness'.

In B-flat minor, on two pages, just over 2 minutes in duration. The piano music uses the higher and lower registers, but notably the 'middle' of the piano is not used at all. The 'heart is ripped out'.

The composer has other pieces to grieve the loss of a loved one: 'Loss', 'New Normal' and 'Solace'.
