Product Description

"Winter Wonderland" is a song written in 1934 by composer Felix Bernard and lyricist Richard Bernhard Smith. Though not originally intended as a Christmas song, its winter theme has made it a holiday favorite in the Northern Hemisphere. First recorded by Richard Himber, the song has since been covered by over 200 artists. The lyrics depict a romantic scene between a couple enjoying the winter season. In 1947, a version with "new children's lyrics" was released, transforming the song from a romantic winter scene to one focused on playful activities in the snow. The snowman, originally referred to as Parson Brown, was changed to a circus clown, and the romantic promises made by the couple were replaced with lyrics about frolicking. Some artists, like Johnny Mathis, blended both versions by adding additional verses and choruses. This arrangement is for flute choir.
