As the name suggests, Palindromicanon is both a palindrome (the same exact thing forwards and backwards) and a canon.

But wait! That's not possible -- a palindrome will always begin and end with the same person playing; a canon will always begin and end with a different person.

Therefore, it was necessary to cheat just a little bit. Right in the center of the piece, the first cello plays some stuff that the second cello never plays, and this serves to accentuate the excitement of the climax. Thus, the piece is in fact a perfect palindrome, but a slightly imperfect canon.
