Huntingtom was a 19th century pastor, chancellor, and writer from Vermont. O'Kane was a 19th century teacher and hymnist from Ohio. The hymn was base on Psalm 55-56 and Revelation 21:22. Sections A and C are the verse. Sections B and D are the chorus. A modulation to a new key occurs towards the end of secton B with the aid of a French augmented sixth chord. Section C then includes a descant by yours truly.
