"Christ lag in Todesbanden" ("Christ lay in deaths bonds", BWV 278), the prominent famous two-part chorale that vividly illustrates the transition from the profound suffering to the overwhelming joy; here in an arrangement for Clarinet in Bb and String Quartet in which the bass-line has been doubled to get a more symphonic sound; the phrasing follows the syllabation of the german lyrics and the original score, while dynamics are an interpretation of mine.
