Product Description

If youre looking for something subtly festive to add to your repertoire for a December concert, how about this Sleigh Ride by Mozart?

Sleigh Ride is the last of a set of 3 German dances written by the famous classical composer in the final year of his life, originally for small orchestra. Mozart actually used the term Die Schlittenfahrt for the trio section, for which he added a post-horn and bells to the ensemble to help convey the character of the sleigh ride.

This arrangement is primarily for wind quintet of flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. However, for added flexibility, the set includes a clarinet alternative to the horn part and a bass clarinet option to the bassoon. The existing oboe part could also be played effectively on flute.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
