If you want to enjoy a Stellenbosh-choir level African A Capella arrangement you've never heard of, this is the real deal for you!

The story is about a man remembering a girl he was enamored with from way then in the village when they used to be young. The man describes how well-mannered and well educated she was, regrets never having had her, whishes he could stay on his natal hill and wait for her, nicknames her a "Cow's tear-drop"(in Burundian and Rwandan traditions, cows are the most sacred and respected of demesticated animals) and describes her gaze as the "Sunset"(Yasa n'irirenga).

It's a beautiful story, and I was pleased to set it to music that values its depth and sense of longing, sometimes using minor versions of the melody (traditionally pentatonic) to accentuate the nostalgia and the longing he has for his "Cow's tear-drop".

For you all that want to pronounce the words in Kirundi well, I have added a YouTube video of a famous Burundian Singer interpreting this song. Hope it helps with the combined vowels ("nk", "kw", "ry" etc).
