American pop rock artist Eric Carmen (1949-2024) had a great hit with his Never Gonna Fall In Love Again.  This beautiful ballad, with a melody based on the third movement (Adagio) of Sergei Rachmaninov's Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27, peaked at No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart in June 1976, and remained in the Top 40 for 10 weeks.
