TRUMPETS:  ANY USE? Soprano orTenor,Trumpet,Organ.
DAWN combines Ella Wheeler Wilcox's poem Dawn and the bugle call Reveille.

AN EXECUTION.The Roman armies used horns at executions, to show that there was an officer present and responsible. The British army had two march tunes used to show contempt for a delinquent soldier, one for bugles, one for fifes. Here, I use both, as well as an original Dead March. Lyrics are from Kipling's poem Danny Deever.

MOON MEDITATION Many cultures use brass instruments to aid meditation. Sets a poem  by Wordsworth: I took a few liberties with the words.

EXORCISM: This is based on Buddhist ceremonies. The idea seems to be that if one is "possessed", the invading spirit is a guest from another realm and should be welcomed. Om, many padme, hum is a favourite chant.. To my ear, they used a wholetone scale. All four songs: 18 minutes.
