"Open Mic Funk II" was the second of three funk-inspired pieces I pre-wrote on Tuesday, 12 March 2024 at the weekly open mic night at F.E. Pop's in Florence, South Carolina. It is the "funkiest" of the three, with a strong bass guitar lead and polyrhythms in the electric piano and drums. "Open Mic Funk II" is written in 3/8 time, giving it an intriguing blend of duple and triple feel.
