Product Description
SLIP JIG SHENANIGAN, for Piano Quartet (piano, violin, viola, cello) is a joyful, stylized jig in a form known in Ireland as a "slip jig." Almost all Irish jigs are in 6/8 meter, or "three and three," as Irish musicians often say. But a slip jig is in 9/8 meter, or "three and three and three," with specific jig dances to go with slip jigs. While members of your audience probably won't stand up and start dancing a jig, they almost certainly will smile, bob their heads, tap their feet, and maybe even clap. SLIP JIG SHENANIGAN is less than two and a half minutes long, and as such, could be a great concert opener, or an encore. Enjoy!
