Product Description

The ever-popular "Carnival of Venice," has been in our collective memory since at least the 18th century.  This Neopolitan melody was introduced to the world  with Paganinni's set of variations for violin solo and piano accompaniment. One humorous aspect of Paganini's score is that he didn't bother to write out the piano accompaniment version except for the presentation of the theme. After the  theme was presented, he writes, "repeat this 20 times."
The  short arrangement here is for piano solo and contains a theme and one variation. The piece allows the intermediate pianist to learn how to  navigate an extended arpeggio figure in the left hand while maintaining a legato and lyrical melodic projection  as well as  pedalling with the chord changes. In the variation, the bass line remains the same, but the melody is embedded  within a florid figuration in the treble part. Pedalling that appears in this piano arrangement are offered only as suggestions, as many pianist will have their own ideas about pedalling.
