Product Description

Interpretation of Beach Spring is an arrangement of this familiar American hymn tune, which originally appeared in the Sacred Harp.

This arrangement is a modification of an earlier arrangement of the same tune that I wrote for organ. That arrangement featured the melody in the pedals using a 4 solo stop.

In writing this adaptation, I wanted to make the arrangement accessible for either piano solo or organ (manuals only). For that reason, the score shows no piano pedal instructions and it does not include organ stop suggestions.

If played as a piano solo, pedaling in general with harmonic changes would work well. If played on the organ, quiet flute and string stops are appropriate for the accompaniment. A suggestion for the solo in the left hand might be an 8 clarinet stop.
